UPDATE 6/15/04

Prices for scrap steel have risen slightly over the past month. Rod surcharges / Price increases are now over the $250 a ton range and that does not include freight surcharges for this product. I do not see rod supply catching up to demand until sometime late in the 3^rd quarter of this year at the earliest, so we will continue to see small increases unless something drastic happens, such as another spike in the scrap prices or a steep reduction in demand for high carbon rod.
