Selection
of a rope may involve the assessment of its rotational properties.
This can be carried out with one end of the rope free to rotate
or both ends of the rope restrained from turning. For reeving systems
where the height of lift and spacing of the rope does not allow
for the use of a single layer rope, the torque factor can be used
to predict torsional stability of the block, thus avoiding cabling.

Do they specify rotational properties? If so, are they based on
actual test results or calculation?
Do they have their own machine to measure rotation?
Can they provide torque turn properties for any rope?

| BRIDON
has and active program to determine the rotational properties of
its range of Rotation Resistant ropes. BRIDON has developed its
own rotation testing machine and has adopted a "Twistcheck" testing
program for each product and is able to provide actual properties
for any rope.
