According to Robert Madden, Director of Marketing and Sales for Bridon American, "Our personnel have observed ropes completely engulfed in flames with temperatures approaching 200 degrees F. Conventional lubricants on the market today simply cannot withstand these temperatures, with most of them melting or burning out of the rope while in use. The result of this is rope distortion and a shorter service life, which ends up costing our customers in more ways than one. Bridon ropes featuring NOMELT will eliminate these problems, offering greater performance and an extended life."

Bridon's NOMELT Rope Lubricant Specially Formulated To Withstand The Heat

Bridon American Corporation, a leading worldwide manufacturer of wire rope and cable, has announced the introduction of NOMELT, a specially formulated wire rope lubricant designed for use in extremely high temperature environments such as charging cranes in steel mill melt shops. Initially, NOMELT will be available on Bridon's Endurance Dyform 8 and some Blue Strand 6 brands, but it is expected to eventually become the company's standard for "no-melt" applications.

Company research has shown that wire rope not fully lubricated will have only 30% of the life span of a fully lubricated rope, especially when used in intense heat environments such as electric furnace shops. NOMELT has been scientifically formulated to withstand these conditions, saving the end user both time and money.
